Get some bike riding in after work!

Let's hit the Mountain Bike Trails at Memorial Park after work!!! Afterwards we can bike over to Beck's Prime for some dinner and drinks.

We are meeting around 4:30ish by the purple trail. (see map) We will start with a friendly session so everyone can meet each other and then start the ride just before 5pm.

This is the same place we met for biking and geocaching.

For those without a mountain bike you can rent them from Bayou City Adventures  just give them a call. If enough people rent they will deliver the bikes to the park.

The trails had a lot of trees in the way and blocked completely. The trails are iffy till they get all the trees cut down and moved. From the looks of the tree service this will no longer be a wooded trail.

They are cutting down live and dead trees and all the under brush, nothing is remaining when they are done. The bobcat tracks tear up the trail as they drive down them and no trial left when they are done.

Just got back from bike shop. Was going to get an urban bike but nothing I liked in my price range so I got a wheel set, tires, tubes, tape, disks and a cassette. Now I'm ready for the pavement!!!

So you just got street tires for your mountain bike?

      May 16, 2013

    • Ken J.

Yes, not just the tires, the rims, disks and everything to just go from off road to pavement in just a few min. The smooth tires make the rolling resistance very low so I can get a few more MPH out of my bike and go longer on pavement. It also saves my off road tires for off road.

Tentative yes! I should be able to make it if my cousin gets out of town.
