The Fund for Civility is committed to building a community where people feel safe and are treated with dignity, and where we all can work together without rancor to solve community problems.

Our mission is to promote civility, respect and understanding in order to improve the safety and well being of Southern Arizona.

Our current areas of focus are:

Focus on Respect: educate and provide resources to end bullying throughout the lifespan

Focus on Understanding: eliminate the stigma of mental illness so individuals and families can get the support they need.

We do this by:

Convening community members to focus on issues collectively.

Collaborating on projects to make significant impact.

Funding events and programs that support our mission and areas of focus.

The Fund for Civility, Respect and Understanding is a living memorial to the tragic shooting in Tucson on January 8th, 2011.  Ron Barber, who was seriously injured in the shooting, and his family created the Fund for Civility while Ron was still in the intensive care unit. Their goal was to sustain and build upon the community outpouring of goodwill, compassion and kindness that followed the shooting.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
