I've updated this Meetup. For more details, see the full listing:
When: Wednesday, October 5,[masked]:00 PM
Where: Alameda Free Library
1550 Oak St
Alameda, CA 94501
RSVP limit: 60 "Yes" RSVPs
This Wednesday Oct 5th, I'm down-scaling this event since I couldn't get the original main speaker I wanted, but we will still be holding a nice raffle of free complimentary Open Android passes.
And there will still be food, sponsored by RIM Blackberry, but because I promised them a larger audience, I told them to come instead on November 30th for a 10 minutes presentation on their new 'Android Player' (so we'll still have their food this Wednesday, just not their presentation).
As to the agenda, it's still wide-open. If you'd like to speak on a topic, or know someone who can. Please contact me at[masked] (Stephan). We'll be glad to have you. And if no speaker/topic is decided in advance, we'll just have a regular meeting as usual.
As to the raffle, we'll be raffling off two free All Access Passes to the Open Android conference Oct 9 - Oct 11, a $1,695 value each. The pass will be good for the two preceding workshops on Sunday Oct 9th, five Bookshelf ebooks, and also for the Conference itself on Monday Oct 10th and Tuesday Oct 11th. These prizes are being sponsored by O'Reilly.
By the way, you'll have to decide whether you can use those complimentary passes before you leave our meetup, and if you can't, at least give them to someone else (there is no transferring them after that night).
If the changes affect your plans to attend, please take a moment to update your RSVP. (You can RSVP "No" or "Yes".)
You can always get in touch with me through the Contact Us link on Meetup.
