The concept of digital Twin is playing an increasing role in designing, manufacturing and operating smart connected machines in different industries. While the physical world is being rewritten in code, digital twins will be smart representation, augmentation and companion of the new cyber physical world.
GE started to adopt this concept to enable and optimize key Predix-based applications such as predictive maintenance and asset performance management. To enable such functionalities, the current efforts are focusing mainly on collecting and analyzing data mainly from the operational and design phases.
This presentation will introduce a new concept of Cognitive Digital Twins, an architectural framework as well as different business cases. After the presentation, we'll have time to discuss in more details and share thoughts and experience around how to use distributed cognitive computing and digital twins to maximize your ROI from your industrial IoT initiatives."
