We LOVED the class. Mark shared so many wonderful things about being mindful of our impact, the resources around us and seeking their abundance, while only using what we need. Look forward to future classes with him!

Excellent! Mark Hay taught the kids about tool making with only plants and rocks, native plants that are edible, poisonous, and useful, and a native village site.

    Hi Cindy,
Alba is wheezing today. I hate to give up her spot but I know there are other kids on the waiting list. So, if someone else would like to go, Alba will not be able to go today.

I just got a message that a spot opened up and I tried to get on there and book it but it's not letting me. I don't know what to do. Can you help me Cindy? I would really like to take that spot if it's available...and I'm on my iPhone and out of town right now.

Hi Ines, this meetup requires pre-payment. I'm not sure how that looks on the iphone BTW, I just scheduled the same class for March. I will probably post it this weekend, so there is another chance to take this class. Thanks!

For those interested and living in the area, Mark is the program coordinator of the Huntington Beach Junior Stewards of Bolsa Chica, a volunteer program to restore the Bolsa Chica Wetlands. The group meets on the 1st Sunday and 3rd Saturday of each month at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands on Warner at PCH from 9am-noon. I understand that if you participate in the program four times in a year, you are invited to become an "official" Junior Steward and therefore eligible to participate in camp-outs, hikes and other gatherings periodically held by the Jr Stewards. Mr. Mark is TRULY an amazing person and ANY kiddo can learn a vast wealth of knowledge from him. So glad to see the class filled up. If we can get Mr. Mark closer to us up here in Long Beach we would do his class again in a heartbeat. We participated in his classes for 4 years and loved every second. He is such a neat role model for kids.

I've been trying to get Mark to do a class for us in Long Beach for a couple of years now. When he said he could do a one time workshop, I jumped at the chance and just scheduled where he usually does his classes. I will ask him about doing something closer to us. Thanks!

I know a few other long beach families that travel to his classes in OC so Im sure they would be interested too. Thanks!

Weekends are a possibility, but I'm going to see if Mark can do a weekday in March. Did you check his website? He does family walks on Saturdays: http://www.coastliveo...

Awww...I would have loved to sign up my two boys for this class, but there is only one spot left, so I will wait for the next one so that both of my boys can participate next time.

I will try to set up another class in March. Thank you!

My oldest is only 6.5. I'd love to see this class done for a younger crowd! Maybe 4-7?? I'd come with both of boys.

I will ask Mark about it. He seems to be very busy and I was barely able to set this class up. I will work on it, though. :-)
