Physical Science: Electromagnetism ages 11+ years

Details

Join us for more Physical Science for middle schoolers! This is a year-long course, but students may join at any time.

Note: This class will be held in the gee! classroom at Paint N Glaze.

This course is designed to serve as a solid foundation for the study of
the Physical Sciences. Topics to be investigated are phases of matter, force and motion, work, simple machines, conservation and transformation of energy, heat, waves, sound, light, electricity and magnetism. The role of the student in this course is to develop inquiry and problem solving skills within the context of scientific investigation. Students will apply what they learn to everyday situations by conducting investigations and formulating and testing their own hypotheses.

Instructor: Kathleen Duncan is a homeschool teacher with over nine years' experience. She was homeschooled herself from kindergarten all the way through twelfth grade and truly loved it. Kathleen attended California State University Fullerton, earning a bachelor's degree magna cum laude. Her initial plan was to teach public high school, but by then she was already working with homeschoolers and was hooked. She now works with students of all ages and in nearly every subject, both one on one and in class settings.

This is a drop-off class, but parents are invited to wait in Paint N Glaze.

To sign up one child, please RSVP as yourself; to sign up two children, RSVP +1 guest, etc.

If you are not using Sky Mountain funds, please bring payment to the first day of class or pay online.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
