Adventures with LEGO & Kinetic Art!
This first session in the series will be based on the LEGO Hailfire Droid gear.
I've got me 5 of these lovely gears, and 4 more on the way!
Teams of kids will work on building to a design that I've made (very proud of this).
Then we'll brainstorm what else they can do with it!
Weeks 1-4: 1/10/14, 1/17, 1/24, 1/31
Making things move with LEGO bricks. We've got our foundation and we're making things move. Each class will have an open-challenge for the students to solve. We will review how others have done it, then it's up to them to make it happen! Topics covered: making things move up, down, and around. Creating with things that move. Includes key take-home elements to demonstrate gear ratio, movement and other simple machines for work at home. Sorry, the Hailfire Droid Gears stay with me!
