Time spent rejecting ideas and driving your agenda is often wasted time. Ken will share some new ways to approach creation and collaboration. Discussing simple tools and concepts used in the world of improvisational acting (and comedy), Ken will interactively work with attendees on how to let go of your idea for the sake of collaboration and creativity; exploring ideas “brick by brick” and having some fun in the process!
Ken Ferguson lives in Casa Grande, AZ. His corporate experience centers primarily as an instructor and mid level manager in several industries where he participated in numerous “pilot programs, implementations, centralizations and de-centralizations”.
Ken is an adjunct professor teaching Improvisation at Central Arizona College. He is also the director of improv comedy training for ComedySchools.com. He works with ages 8 to 80; teaching improvisation, acting, storytelling, etc. Ken has received training at the prestigious Improv Olympics Chicago and IO West (Los Angeles).He has been an ensemble player for several improv troupes and theatres such as Blue Door Theatre, Spokane, Wa. Jester’Z Improv Comedy, Scottsdale, AZ. The Remainders Musical Improv Comedy Troupe, Phoenix, AZ. ImprovMania, Chandler, AZ.
Notably, as a founding member, Ken toured with The Remainders Musical Improv Comedy Troupe for 4 years performing in the Toronto International Improv Festival, Austin, TX, Albuquerque, NM, Los Angeles, CA, and Las Vegas, NV, as well as throughout the state of Arizona; including the Phoenix Improv Festival.
Ken also owned his own small stage theatre venue the BlackBox Theatre booking a variety of acts that spanned the full spectrum of the performing arts.
Ken Founded EXiT 185 Improv Comedy in 2007. EXiT 185 Improv Comedy has been performing for nearly 7 years locally. Ken is a founding director of BlackBox Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for performing arts and education in Pinal County.
