Design Patterns in PHP Part 1

Our friend Peter Miazga will share some of his favorite design patterns with us at this Meetup. You're probably already familiar with some design patterns whether or not you've studied them intentionally. They give us solutions to common problems, and a vocabulary to use with other developers when talking about code.

I've labeled this as "Part 1" so that we can just go for an hour or so, and when we run out of time save the rest for "Part 2" at some time in the future.

I hope you're able to join us for what promises to be an enlightening evening sharpening our PHP skills.

It was great seeing you all last night, and to see our numbers back up to where they used to be. To the woman who won the JetBrains license... I've lost your email! Please message me and I'll get you the license.

Thanks for the great presentation Peter - I'm looking forward to Part 2.

Would have loved to have been in town for this one. If it's going to be recorded or put on up on the web, please let me know as I'm keenly interested in this topic.

    Have a great one!

Can I get an idea of what specifics might be discussed? Design patterns is a very broad topic, and I want to get a feel for what will take place when I show up.

For instance: is this sharing a catalog of DPs; introducing programmers to what they are in the first place; talking about when and where to use them; looking at successful implementations; ... or something else?

Part 1 will be mainly introduction + Creational Design Patterns, why to use them and when. On previous meetups there was lots of fresh developers, so idea is to talk at least little bit about each pattern, show example, to give them deep understanding of DP in real life.
