Kick off meeting for Open Source Self Driving Car initiative, to build one in Toronto/GTA.
I invite everyone to participate, together we could do it!
To achieve this we need engineers, designers, data scientists, developers, lawyers etc, and through this community we could make this happen!

This event is to kick off the GTA Robotics Open Source (OS) Self Driving Car (SDC) initiative, to build an OS SDC car in Toronto/GTA:

There are similar initiatives around the globe, lets make GTA/Toronto a leader in OS SDC.
At this first event we will have Eric Evenchick (@ericevenchick) an expert in car network communication (CAN bus) and security, a former Tesla intern and the creator of the open source CAN bus USB interface - CANtact - presenting us:

A great tool for getting ready to collect data from your car and contribute datasets to the OS SDC larger community.
Eric will also bring a few CANtact devices, so if you are interested to buy one this will be a great opportunity.
Then I will talk about my experience at Udacity Self Driving Car Challenges and we will look into creating an action plan to get this project going.

A bit of background for this OS SDC project.
I planned to organized this since I've joined the Udacity SDC challenges about end of September, it was an amazing experience and lots of learning.
They are building a full SDC car, and since I joined I realized we need to do the same here in Toronto/GTA, the SDC software needs as much data as possible, and needs to be adapted to the situations in each country.
