The next Galway Data meetup will take place on Wednesday, April the 29th focusing on analytics with unstructured and relational data. We will hear from Fergal Monaghan, CTO of Adoreboard (http://adoreboard.com/) (an award-winning company performing analytics on vast amounts of textual data to measure how the world feels about your brand), and Renaud Delbru, CTO at Siren Solutions (http://siren.solutions/)(specialising in search and Big Data technologies). Come and join us at Altocloud’s offices for an evening of pizza, drinks and discussions around exciting Big Data technologies like Elasticsearch, UIMA and more.

• 6:45pm: Altocloud Team: Real-time integration of MongoDB and Kafka

In this short demo we will show how to easily integrate MongoDB with Kafka allowing for more complex and diverse real-time data processing. We will explain how to create a Kafka stream of MongoDB data updates that can be consumed by other elements of the data processing pipeline.

Renaud Delbru, Ph.D., is a CTO of Siren solutions (http://siren.solutions), a Senior Engineer and Scientist, author of the research that led to the SIREn engine and all aspects related to large scale data retrieval and analytics. He is author of over a dozen academic works in the area of semi-structured information retrieval and big data RDF processing. Among his achievements, he led the team that won the Entity Search track of the Yahoo’s Semantic Search 2011.

Fergal is CTO of Adoreboard (https://www.adoreboard.com/blog/post/envisioning-the-future-adoreboard-cto-fergal-monaghan), where he leads the vision and execution of Adoreboard's technology roadmap to measure how the world feels about your brand, your marketing campaigns and your competitors. His background is in Machine Learning and more recently Text Analysis and he has many years experience leading engineering and research teams. Fergal holds a patent and Ph.D. from National University of Ireland, Galway on personal multimedia annotation using Machine Learning over the combination of data from the Internet of Things and the Web of Data
