Metroid Prime, the first full-featured Metroid FPS game. It deeply influenced my ideals of tone and oblique storytelling. The far future setting is great for me (huge sucker for sci fi) but what really makes the game memorable is the process of slowly finding and scanning things to build a picture of not only the incidents that lead to your arrival on the planet, but the truly ancient civilization that had existed long before. The creative graphics were powerful enough to convey the universe.
I specialize in CNC processes, and have experience with an art project on public view in the town of my alma mater. I'm also a highly proficient pixel pusher; I've done a lot of graphic work (including whole album covers) to good acclaim. I have some experience with code, and I'm trying to teach myself more. My program of choice is Rhinoceros, precision NURBS modelling.
a step into a brand new universe. I am especially excited by the prospect of helping to create some early VR games. Virtual reality is an open frontier, and it is only poised to expand. I would love to experience contemporary games in an enveloped manner, and I am truly astounded by the possibilities afforded by the design process in virtual reality. I hope to be an early adopter of the tech involved, and having a hand in some software would be amazing!
I'm a religious devotee of Kim Stanley Robinson, and I hope to die on Mars.
