Bearing Fruit is for playtesting your hot new game. If you have a game in the works, may one day have a game in the works, or just like exploring the design of a game then this is for you! Our mission is to facilitate the development of games that are socially inquisitive or engage with human experiences.

This event will be focused on discussing Vernal Star Challenge submissions! All throughout the month of April the Game Garden will be facilitating Vernal Star submissions development. Anyone can (and is encouraged!) to participate. We have a whole month long program to help participants develop and complete their games - please visit http://www.gamestogather.org/games-to-gather-presents-the-vernal-star-game-design-challenge/ for all of the details!

Our objective is to develop and support games that are socially inquisitive or engage with human experiences. Please be advised that feedback you receive will build toward this goal.

Playtesting is a unique experience. It's about discovering and fixing the issues with a game's design so that it can be consumed by a wider audience. We hope that playtesting is enjoyable, but understand that it is about testing and making adjustments to something that is on it’s way to becoming a finished product.

If you like playing around with new ideas and giving feedback, then you will probably enjoy playtesting! But if you are joining a playtest just looking for a game to play you will might be disappointed by the more intensive nature of the playtesting process.

Bearing Fruit takes place indoors around a table, and is only suitable for games of up to six players for the most part. Generally speaking please plan on playtesting a single element of your game. After you present and explain your game and leave time for feedback you will only have about half an hour to do the actual playtest. Games that require more space, more people, or more time will have to make special arrangements.

If you would like to bring a game all you have to do is playtest and comment with the details!

We will be at a new venue this time - The Green Dragon. We'll let you know which room closer to the event!

Now let’s see what you’ve got!
