July 4th Parade in DC

IMPORTANT: We will leave my place (Apt 523) at 9:15am as we can expect the metro to take some time.

I've personally never attended a major parade, so it sounds like a lot of fun. Its definitely a tourist fest, but it would be great to make a day of it starting with the parade. Michael is coordinating fireworks watching in DC, but for anyone that wants to watch from NOVA I plan to go to Long Bridge Park in Crystal City( http://www.arlingtonva.us/portals/topics/thingstodo/page85181.aspx ).

For the Parade, the plan is to metro from my place on Yellow Line to Archives. We will then walk over to Constitution and find a spot around 9th St to watch the parade. If anyone has a better suggestion before-hand, please let us know.

Entry to The National Mall isn't until 10AM, so I figured we could meet at my place before-hand. This would allow us to all metro over together, plus parking around my place will be free for the holiday. The parade then starts at 11:45am. We will leave my place at 9:15am. If you're running late, please plan to meet us in DC.
