Course Description:

This program will help you to create your own, fully functional WordPress website in a day! 6 hours of intensive training. Roll up your sleeves and be prepared to make the most of your investment to create a truly amazing website. See and Do then Do Again is the instructional method of this program. I give a live demonstration of each task, and then you will walk through the same task on your website. Then you will do it again in an independent exercise for your website.This way you'll build your website while you learn! What we will accomplish:

Configure global settings Create a custom Home Page Create an About Us page Create a Contact Us page complete with a contact form Create a Blog post Install and configure Plugins: Visual Editor, Form Builder, and SEO Install and configure a Theme Build a custom menu At the end of the day, you'll have a 3-page website up and running, and you'll be able to create great blog-style posts and web pages full of rich content, including text, audio, video, and other media. All you need to do is start working and we will help you every step!

Prerequisite Skills - Please read before Registering!:

Prospective students need to have good fundamental computer skills and be able to perform basic tasks such as accessing programs and files, sending/receiving e-mail, and browsing/searching the Internet. Because using WordPress does not entail software programming, students do not need to have any prior computer programming experience!

Equipment Requirements:

You must bring your own laptop, along with any content (text, images, etc.) that you would like to put on your site. WiFi access will be provided. This program is completely web-based, meaning all work is done online.

Other Requirements:

You must already have a registered domain name and a web hosting account with WordPress installed. You may purchase your domain name and hosting by selecting the Class, Domain Name, Hosting option when registering.
