Fwd: Geek Girls at Bascom in September

From our Bascom Library contact, here is an interesting proposition for an activity during our General Meetup.

If we have enough interest, we'll probably do it in September. For the October one, I wanted to put together something Halloween-themed.

We have until tomorrow to give a response!

Hi Sally,

I'm wondering if you would be interested in having this activity for your September or October meetup at Bascom?

STEAMstacks: Cut Paper Art Workshop for Adults

Description: "STEAMstacks" is SJPL's own brand name for a series programs incorporating elements of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. For this program an IPS librarian will come to your location to provide a two-hour technology/art workshop for adults. The Tech Center will need to be reserved for this program. Participants will work with a combination of pre-made templates (with a variety of motifs) and their own designs to create cut paper art.

Attendance limits: Limited to number of Tech Center Computers. Pre-registration recommended.

Public Blurb: In this two-hour workshop you will receive a brief introduction to the artform of cut paper art and use a digital papercutting machine to create a work of art.

Every couple of months our Programming Unit sends out a menu of programming choices. This is one that is geared toward adults and has some tech aspects to it so I thought about your group. If you already have something planned for both your Sept. or Oct. program that's perfectly fine I just thought I'd like you to know since this program is offered for those two months only. If you could let me know by this Thursday, 7/3, that would be great as that is when all programming choices need to be submitted.

Thank you!
