Hi Ladies!

I've encountered a couple of groups lately that will likely appeal to our membership. I thought I'd let you all know about them and encourage you to check them out!

First off, we have the California Association of Pop-culture Enthusiasts (CAPE). I went to their monthly dinner in December, and had a pretty fun time. It's a very small group right now, and their main focus is comic books. It's a co-ed group, but I made sure they weren't skeevy. Seem like legit folks who want to geek out about movies and comics. Check them out here: http://www.meetup.com...

Also, for those of you who have gone to the fencing days I've had, and are interested in taking it to the next level, Jonathan has started the Scholars of Acala. Check it out here: http://www.meetup.com.... He would like to get at least 10 or so people coming by on a weekly basis, but if you can't make it every week, don't worry! He's flexible about it.

Allison has the Sci-Fi and Fantasy group, with a varied array of events around the county: http://www.meetup.com.... Kristine runs the Madman With a Box meetup: http://www.meetup.com....

If you have any groups you'd like to promote, here is your space to do so.

I have another geek oriented North County meetup group that is coed: http://www.meetup.com...

There is a fair amount of membership crossover with this group, but with male significant others and friends involved and a few other single men and women. We have some regular families attending, so these tend to be mellow family-friendly events.
