What flavor of Geek/Nerd variant do you consider yourself to be? What kind of social happenings best fit into your particular theme of un-conforming?

I don't know the official variant terminology, but I tend to be really geeky to the point where I am a semi-hardcore video gamer (PS3, XBOX 360, and PC), and enjoy staying up-to-date with current technology. I also dabble in web development from time to time (using PHP, HTML 5, XHTML 1.0, JS, and CSS 3), but I'm a little weak in the JS area. What I would like to see myself jumping into is a group that is more open-minded when it comes to video games and technology rather than the hottest games of all time and such. I also like it when people are mindful of others so nobody feels left out. I have social anxiety, but I tend to warm up over time and feel more comfortable in socializing.

Are you a Social Butterfly? Do you play well with others? Do you enjoy meeting new people? If so, would you be willing to help out our Nerd Posse leadership team with regularly recurring activities by occasionally hosting events at public locations?

Social butterfly? Hardly... But I can dabble once the ice is broken and I feel much warmer (not socially anxious). I do enjoy meeting new people and chatting. But I tend to watch what I say until I get to know others well and we seem to converse pleasantly. I also play well with others. I'm pretty much either the leader, or the disciple (depending on which game it is and who has which role.) I would be more than happy to take up on helping out with the Nerd Posse leadership team if I seem to fit in the group by hosting occasional recurring activities at public locations. Just let me know what and when. I'll figure the where part.

When you finally discovered this group after an arduous quest thru Meetup for a flock of odd ducks who naturally “get” your unique brand of slightly off, did you squeal like a piglet, do a happy dance, then have to adjust your glasses? (BE HONEST!)

Not really, lol. Although the thought is really fun to think about. I'm not the super giddy type or such like. I'm more of "Cool... I got in. When's the next meet? Lets go!"
