Impact Solutions Meetup — Diversity and Inclusion

How do you hire for a diverse workforce?

How can we change our thinking to be more inclusive of the diverse racial backgrounds and sexual orientations?

How do you create an inclusive, supporting environment for your organization and neighborhood?

These are issues that can be challenging to implement; all the more reason we need to speak transparently and share ideas. We have three speakers on deck to discuss the ways they have approached them:

• Derek Dorsey — Organized the Picnic for Solidarity (http://generocity.org/philly/2015/12/14/al-aqsa-islamic-society-river-wards-picnic-solidarity/) in response to the attack on the Al-Aqsa Islamic Society (http://alaqsaislamicsociety.com/wp/?page_id=34), a 1,000+ attendee event in just 5 days.

• Marc Coleman — President of The Tactile Group (http://www.thetactilegroup.com/), a digital agency committed to the development of an inclusive, multicultural community, will discuss their approach to hiring.

• Kelly Kroehle — Director of The Bryson Institute (http://www.thetactilegroup.com/) of the Attic Youth Center, will be on hand to discuss questions and tools for proactively structuring your organization to be inclusive of a diverse community.
