Impact Solutions: Leaders of Color

Details

REAL TALK: Philly, like many cities around the nation, has a diversity problem. In a city that is about 55% non-white, and 44% black, across the board there needs to be more effort to have leadership that is reflective of the community we have.

So we're making room at Generocity for the conversations that need to happen. This month we're launching our editorial calendar (http://generocity.org/philly/2016/08/05/editorial-calendar-announcement/), kicking off with "Leaders of Color", in which we are featuring projects and organizations run by minority leaders. Additionally, we're featuring guests posts from Philly leaders of color on a regular basis to talk about leadership and/or working in Philly’s impact sector.

To kick all of this off, we're hosting our monthly meeting at the Benjamin's Desk at 601 Walnut Street featuring leaders of color to talk about their projects and current work in Philly.

We'll have three speakers: Erica Atwood, founder of First Degree Consulting, Otis Hackney, Chief Education Officer of Philadelphia, and Kellan White, Political Director for Katie McGinty.

This is a time to meet leaders who are working on transformative solutions to local issues, be informed, build relationship and move in a more equitable direction for all.

We'll have the usual beers and light snacks — meet us at the (NEW) Benjamin's Desk at 601 Walnut Street, 12th floor.
