The April GeoDC meetup is on for Wednesday, April 3 at 7:00 pm at Stetson's (http://stetsons-dc.com/index.php) at 16th and U streets NW. This month will feature a series of five minute lightning talks:

Kevin Pomfret (https://twitter.com/kpomfret)from theCentre for Spatial Law and Policy (http://www.spatiallaw.com/)will talk about thekey legal and policy issues that every geoprofessional should be aware of and why. Bobby Sudekum (http://twitter.com/bobws) will talk about how and why he built MeatText (http://www.meattext.com/), a location sharing iOS app that you really should be using with your friends. Andrew Wiseman (http://twitter.com/wisemana) will talk about a project undertaken by USAID's Office of Transition Initiatives to train Honduran students to map the bus system in Tegucigalpa, Honduras as part of a violence-disruption program by using GPS units and Google Earth. Max Richman (https://twitter.com/richmanmax) will show a visualization of mobile phone calls around the recent election in the Ivory Coast and talk about how InterMedia analyzed and mapped the data.
