Details

With a week to go, it's time for an update with more specifics about what's going to happen during the event. The goal of the evening is for everyone to leave the room more knowledgeable than they entered, and meet others with shared interests along the way.

To that end -- we've set up a talk by Angela Minster to provide a brief overview about the basics and fundamentals of working (not to mention making maps!) with R, as well as demos by Christopher Tufts to show a few ways one can utilize R for mapping purposes.

Following the two presentations, we'll have about an hour of open project time where people can dive in hands on to explore what they just learned in deeper detail, or alternatively work on whatever you want in the company of a room full of awesome people.

So while the content and focus of the evening definitely skews toward the beginner end of the spectrum, we believe there is something for everyone to gain from attending, regardless of your skill level.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Note: There is a hands-on activity component to this event so please bring a laptop. If you would like to attend but bringing a laptop is an issue, message one of the event hosts privately and we will find a solution.

Also be aware that GeoPhilly's Code of Conduct (https://www.meetup.com/GeoPhilly/about/) is in full effect. Please read it and adhere to it at all Geophilly events.
