GARP Mtg. Featuring Author Melanie Joy, Author of Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs...

Join us at the GARP general meeting featuring guest speaker: Melanie Joy, author of Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows: An Introduction to Carnism.

Dr. Melanie Joy is a Harvard-educated psychologist and professor of psychology and sociology at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Dr. Joy has written articles on psychology, animal protection, and social justice, as well as the award-winning Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows: An Introduction to Carnism. She has been featured on programs including the BBC, National Public Radio, PBS, ABC Australia, Good Morning Croatia, and the Austrian Der Standard.  She has been active in the animal protection movement for over twenty years, and has trained activists around the world in effective advocacy,nonviolent communication, and strategic social change. Dr. Joy is also the author of Strategic Action for Animals.
