Bike and Brew

Details
Our first bike event of the year will be a Bike and Brew in Uptown Greenville. We'll meet at the Five Points Parking Lot, and have two different groups going out. The beginners group will take a leisurely ride along the greenway and learn proper etiquette for riding a shared path and riding on the road. The more advanced group will be for those riders who want to go a little faster and ride a longer distance. If you're brand new to cycling, or want to do the longer distance but feel as if you won't be able to keep up, don't worry! Both rides are "no drop," meaning that we will maintain a pace that allows us to remain as a group and have a dedicated sweeper. After the ride, we will meet back at Winslows to enjoy a beverage and socialize.
The beginner ride will be a 7-mile leisurely ride along the greenway starting from Uptown Greenville. We'll head to Town Common then follow the Greenway along the beautifulTar River, continue up through Green Mill Run Park and return through campus. We'll finish at the Five Points parking lot. We estimate this ride will take 45min to an hour.
The advanced ride will be 18 miles, taking us on the north side of the river along some rural roads and will offer great scenery for the riders. We create a loop on back roads east of 264. We'll cross 264 to ride past the North Recreational Complex, then circle back into uptown. We estimate this ride will take up to an hour and a half.
We ask that every rider wear a helmet - safety first! We also recommend you wear bright colored clothing so you can be seen more easily by traffic.
We look forward to seeing you out there!
