GetHiking! at Night, on the MST

We're fully immersed in the holiday season now, which means our weekend time on the trail is at a minimum. But that doesn't mean our time on the trail should be limited, not when there are headlamps we can strap to our noggins. That's what we'll be doing on Wednesday, Dec. 3, when we return to our favorite night hike, the 2.3-mile stretch of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail along Falls Lake starting from the Upper Barton Creek Boat Ramp. We'll trace the shore of Falls Lake out to BOO (the Big 'Ol Oak) just before NC 98, then hike back. Night views of the lake and a quiet, sedating pre-winter hike in general. Just the thing for the holidays.
