This is my favorite hike, whether I'm training for a backpack trip or not. It is a mountain, right? Well, sorta, as the trail does a steep climb up 700-foot Cox Mountain; repeat the climb several times in one hike, and ... . That won't be our plan, however. Rather, we'll do a 5-mile loop that includes a cool swinging bridge that bounces when one jumps on it (oops, didn't see that rule sign on the picture). A must hike for anyone who lives in the Triangle. An extra mile can be added by looping through the camping area.
