Our celebration of Mountains-to-Sea Trail Month continues with a 10-mile saunter down the MST along the Eno River in Orange and Durham counties. After meeting and setting a shuttle at the Pleasant Green Access, we'll drive to West Point on the Eno City Park and hike upstream, passing Sennet Hole and the old Durham water station, climbing some surprisingly steep (but not long) bluffs, skirting the Eno Quarry and squeezing through a mountain laurel-choked passage. A nice hike with varied terrain. The hike should be considered moderate to strenuous, based primarily on distance but also because of the short, grinding climbs mid-hike. We will break for lunch on this hike; it's getting hot out there, bring plenty of water.
Find a description of the hike on the Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail (http://ncmst.org) website, here (http://www.ncmst.org/the-trail/plan-your-hike-2/trail-sections/section-25/day-hikes-at-the-eno/).
