Let's hope the heat gives us a break so we can enjoy the shady trails of Hemlock Bluff and nearby Swift Creek Greenway at Recency Park, which is a paved loop trail around the Symphony Lake. This is optional side hike for those who want a bit more miles.

Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve is home to a unique community of Eastern Hemlock trees and other mountain plant species, access to approximately 3 miles of mulched nature trails, scenic overlooks, excellent bird and wildlife watching opportunities and areas for quiet nature reflection.

The combination of trails is around 4.8 miles and Hemlock Buffs closes at 8:30 so we should have plenty of time for that all important and necessary dose of Vitamin N.
