Java is one of the most popular programming languages in use today. It runs on many different devices including your desktop, web servers and android phones! Java is an object oriented programming language. Object-oriented programming is a fundamental style of programming languages where programs are built out of objects that interact with one another.

This class is an introduction to the Java programming language and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts. It assumes no prior programming experience and will take you from the beginning with language fundamentals and OOP concepts.

This 2-class Java/OOP course runs the weekend.

Here are the class dates:

Class 1: Intro to Language Fundamentals and Objects: Saturday, August 17th, 10am-2pm Class 2: Object-Oriented Concepts: Sunday, August 18th, 10am-2pm

About the Instructor: Ashley graduated from UTSA with a BS in Computer Science. She currently works as a Software Engineer at Spanning Cloud Apps. Her previous positions include Software Engineer at IBM and Teaching Assistant for Introduction to Computer Science, Data Structures, & Software Engineering courses as well as webmaster for the College of Engineering.
