Intro to Sass

Details
The Sass website defines it as "Sass is a meta-language on top of CSS that’s used to describe the style of a document cleanly and structurally, with more power than flat CSS allows. Sass both provides a simpler, more elegant syntax for CSS and implements various features that are useful for creating manageable stylesheets." Everyone else defines Sass as "FREAKIN' AWESOME!"
In this class, we'll learn what Sass is and what makes it so cool (like variables, nesting, and mixins). We'll review options for file structure and compiling your code.
This class is best for students who have a solid understanding of CSS and want to expand their skill set.
All students should have a text editor installed on their computer prior to class. We recommend Sublime Text ( http://www.sublimetext.com/ ). We will also be using CodeKit in class, which can be downloaded as a trial or purchased for $25.
About the Instructor: Sophie Shepherd is a designer at Happy Cog in Austin. After graduating from film school, she taught herself how to code and fell in love with web design. She hasn't looked back since. When not doing web stuff, Sophie likes road trips, running, and cooking.
