Crafting the User Journey: Learning to Scaffold an Experience

Details

ABOUT THE CLASS

Just as buildings have architecture, user experience does, too. Only instead of steel and concrete, experience scaffolding is partially comprised of the user journey or how a user gets from a starting point to what she desires in the most delightful way possible.

We’ll find out what a user journey is, see user journeys for professional work, and work together to make our own.

TAKEAWAYS

• Learn what experience scaffolding (IA) and user journeys are

• Understand how user journeys work

• Best practices in user journeys

• Know how to create delightful user journeys

The class will take place on Wednesday November 4, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at MeYou Health.

Amy Chenault

At Society of Grownups (https://www.societyofgrownups.com/), Amy is an Interaction Designer helping to tackle the challenge of how to translate the location’s emotionally rewarding, community-based experience to the digital space. In some of her other UX lives, she’s had the opportunity to collaborate with amazing teams to give local communities a voice while maintaining a newspaper’s journalistic integrity (Neighborhood Square (http://neighborhoodsquare.com)), find new and innovative ways to get kids moving in the classroom (Pearson (http://pearson.com)), and build an entirely new community platform for one of the most robust communities on the Internet (The Huffington Post (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/)). Work she has contributed to has garnered the 2011 Italian national prize for innovation, an acknowledgement prize in the 2011 Holcim awards for sustainable construction, and a 2014 CODiE nomination for Best Professional Learning Solution for Education.
