Introduction to HTML/CSS

Details
This class will run for four nights:
Monday, June 3 - 6:30PM-9:00PM
Wednesday, June 5 - 6:30PM-9:00PM
Monday, June 10 - 6:30PM-9:00PM
Wednesday, June 12 - 6:30PM-9:00PM
Learn to build your own website! Learn how to better control the one you've already got! No prior web design experience necessary. You will leave this class with a simple website, built with HTML5 and CSS3.
Tech Requirements:
- Your laptop.
- A modern browser with either Chrome (https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/) and the WebDeveloper (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/web-developer/bfbameneiokkgbdmiekhjnmfkcnldhhm?utm_source=gmail) extension or Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/) and Firebug (http://getfirebug.com/) installed.
- A text editor. We recommend Komodo Edit (http://www.activestate.com/komodo-edit/downloads). (It's free and available for both Mac and PC, don't download Komodo IDE - it's different!).
You can take a sneak peak at the slides here: http://www.girldevelopit.com/materials. Look for the Intro to HTML and CSS core curriculum.
Dealer.com has graciously offered us class space. Parking is available.
- The $75 entrance fee covers all four nights. This is the SAME as our first class (from April 13 and 20), back again by popular demand!

Rebecca Grenier has 13 years of experience working in web programming and development. She is active in the local Vermont tech community, was on team Honor Code for an all-night programming Hackathon in October, and participates in several user groups in the area. She's currently a Software Developer for EatingWell Magazine in Shelburne, VT where she uses HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript to maintain their website and Scala with the Play framework to develop new applications. A Vermont native, Becky was introduced to programming at the age of 12 when she and her twin sister taught themselves how to create infinite loops in GW BASIC for the sole purpose of insulting each other thousands of times over.
