The technical landscape of Vermont poses unique challenges and opportunities for people who would like to work in software or web development. Rebecca Grenier and Amy Coutu will discuss tips and tricks on how to find a job from both the perspective of the job hunter AND the hiring manager. You'll learn how to apply and ultimately how to land that technical job of your dreams here in the Green Mountain State.

- How to learn the skills you need to get your first tech job
- Technical job interview tips (and you will have an opportunity to practice during the Interviewing workshop)

Rebecca Grenier, Girl Develop It Burlington Leadership Committee member, is a Software Developer for EatingWell Magazine in Shelburne, VT. Actively invested in Burlington's vibrant tech community, her team "Becky and the Hackettes" won second place at the 2013 HackVT hackathon. A Vermont native, Becky was introduced to programming at the age of 12 when she and her twin sister taught themselves how to create infinite loops in GW BASIC for the sole purpose of insulting each other thousands of times over.

Amy Coutu is the Information Technology Director at Logic Supply (http://www.logicsupply.com/company/careers/), a South Burlington-based industrial computer company. Amy has an extensive background with more than 15 years of experience leading, building and delivering software solutions. In her current role she oversees the development and implementation of computer and telecommunications software, networks, and information systems.
