Want to learn how to build your own website? Already have your own Tumblr/Wordpress/etc site, but want to have more control over it? Interested in learning to program but want to start small? This class is for you!
This class is great for beginners - no previous coding experience required!
We will guide you through the basics of HTML and CSS, give you some readily-applicable skills, and answer any questions you may have along the way.
CLASS DATES
This 4-class HTML/CSS course runs for four Tuesdays:
Class 1: HTML Basics - Tuesday, July 14th, 7-9pm
Class 2: Introduction to CSS - Tuesday, July 21th, 7-9pm
Class 3: CSS Positioning & Page Layout - Tuesday, July 28th, 7-9pm
Class 4: Common Web Layouts, Tips & Tricks - Tuesday, August 4th, 7-9pm
The course will be facilitated by Becky Blank & Becky Sroufe and instructed by John Back with several teaching assistants present during each class.
PREREQUISITES
At this time, you will need to provide your own laptop - PC or Mac - to participate in the course.
Please install the following prior to class:
• Download Sublime Text 3 (http://www.sublimetext.com/3) - the preferred text editor
• Also, as an alternative to Internet Explorer, please install either Chrome (https://www.google.com/intl/en_us/chrome/browser/), Safari (http://support.apple.com/downloads/#safari), or Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html) + Firebug (http://getfirebug.com/downloads).

INSTRUCTOR
John Back is a web developer based in Cincinnati, OH. John is active in the startup community with such startups as Blackbook (http://blackbookhr.com/). John enjoys living in downtown Cincinnati, semi-competitive kickball, and being a vegetarian.

At least 7 students will need to enroll for this course for it to be hosted. If there are not 7 or more registrations by 72 hours before the class start time, it will be cancelled and registered students will be issued a full refund.
