Intro to JavaScript/jQuery (Beginner Level)

Details

JavaScript is the programming language that makes web pages interactive, and is used these days to make servers, robots, and more. That makes it one of the most useful first languages to learn, if you're just getting started with programming and particularly web development.

**Please note the different location for the first class!

In this class we will provide you with some of the basics of programming, using JavaScript to manipulate websites and how the basics needed to start on the path of becoming a great web developer. jQuery is one of the most popular Javascript libraries in use today and makes it much easier to use JavaScript on your website. jQuery takes a lot of common tasks that requires many lines of JavaScript code to accomplish, and wraps it into methods that you can call with a single line of code. It makes client-side scripting easier by providing a simplified interface for interacting with HTML documents.

This course is targeted at beginners to programming and will cover variables, functions, logic, loops, arrays, and objects. If you already know another language, you're welcome to come, you'll probably just find that you work at a faster pace.
