Interested in becoming more involved with Girl Develop It DFW? Please join us for our first Core Team member planning session.
This event is for people who’ve expressed interest in being more involved with GDI DFW as an instructor, TA, or other volunteer. At the meeting we’ll discuss each role that we’re looking to fill for 2014 and how you can take that role on!
A few specific roles we’re looking to fill are:
Fort Worth Ambassador
You will represent GDIDFW in the Fort Worth community and help organize events and workshops.
Denton Ambassador
You will represent GDIDFW in the Denton community and help organize events and workshops.
Instructors
• Ruby, Rails
• Python
• MySQL/Database design
• Design (UI/UX/Mobile/Wireframing)
• Mobile app development (iOS or Android)
• Career planning (resume/interviews/recruiting)
• Anything else that you want to teach! If you want to teach it, there’s probably someone who wants to learn it! Here's our current list of topics: http://gdidfw.tumblr.com/courses
Speakers/Panelists
We love to bring in speakers to discuss all sorts of topics including career planning, industry trends, new technologies, etc. Throw a topic at us, it's probably great! Email is ok if you're interested in this: [masked]
TAs
Each instructor needs some help! TAs are there to assist the instructor during class so students can get the help they need. We are looking for TAs for all the topics listed above.
Social Media Manager or Community outreach
• Manage Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn profiles
• Help promote events online and at local events
• Maintain blog
• Submit events to online event sites
Event Organizers
As an event organizer, you'll help with planning, coordinating, and hosting classes, workshops, and meetups. We're looking for people who are interested in hosting regular or semi-regular meetup events (similar to Code and Coffee) as well as general volunteers.
Sponsors and Hosts
Do you have a conference room you're not using? Equipment you're looking to donate? Interested in sponsoring students or the local chapter? We are always looking for more spaces to host classes and meetups!

We will be hosting this at Improving Enterprises, located off the tollway between Trinity Mills and Keller Springs.
