This is a refresher course for those who have worked with HTML and/or CSS before but need to brush up on it. So, if you made simple web pages years ago and just can't quite remember which tags to use or if you worked with CSS once or twice, and can't remember how to make columns, then this class is for you!

We'll be covering the same material that we usually cover in our HTML and CSS 101 class, but we'll be moving quickly through it. We'll build out a simple web page and remind you how to use the different HTML tags and then how to style them with CSS.

If you are brand new to HTML and CSS, then this probably isn't the class for you - we'll be moving too quickly through the material for someone seeing it for the first time to really grasp it.

Prerequisites

Some basic familiarity with HTML and CSS, even if it's been years since you used it. Maybe you customized your MySpace page, had a killer GeoCities site or won awards for your Hometown AOL web site once upon a time. Maybe you've taken some online classes from CodeAcademy, Lynda.com or Treehouse, and just need to brush up.

Teacher: Suzette Franck
TA's: Grace Chung & Anne Chu

What to Bring

Please bring a laptop* and charger to class. Power outlets and wifi will be provided. You may also wish to bring a notepad and pen/pencil for taking notes.

We'll be using a modern web browser and a text editor in class. If you don't already have these installed, please install them before you come to class.

For web browsers, we recommend Mozilla Firefox (http://firefox.com/) or Google Chrome (http://google.com/chrome). For a text editor, we recommend Sublime Text 2 (http://www.sublimetext.com/2). Note that you do not have to purchase Sublime Text 2. If you download the free evaluation version that will be good enough for class.
