We are seeking an experienced User Experience and Design Lead to join our small, but growing creative team.
The UX / Design Lead will work across all agency practices and creative deliverables. You will be the subject matter expert and lead the development of best practices in user centric design across all projects. Additionally you will be able to communicate and explain our best practices and approach with key client stakeholders and management.
When not engaged on client work, you will also work closely with management to help designs / prototype upcoming products, client pitch story generation, and packaged services deliverables.
As UX / Design Lead you would work hands-on on the following types of projects:
-Working with clients on strategy and user experience development to sell-in campaign and future agency work.
-Working with the internal design, engineering and project management team to work directly on and to assign work such as: wireframing, user flows, user personas, copy, design comps, brand creative
-Work on the IA and Design Comps for social web projects that are accessible and optimized for: client websites, social media (apps), mobile devices, tablet.
-Work on internal company initiatives such as new prototype / product developments, pitch deck narratives, etc.
Please do not apply if you are not ready to submit or able to showcase examples of your information architecture work as it pertains to web applications, mobile and/or websites. A critical part of this job is someone who has experience and can lead our UX practice.
From a management perspective, you would have 1 direct report who also focuses on web and app design comps and wireframing. You would work with a database of contractors and copywriters as needed. As the department grows, you would be responsible for working with management on interviews and identifying future creative talent needs.
-3+ years relevant UX design experience
-Experience generating IA deliverables for desktop, social media, mobile, tablet, etc
-Background gathering complex business requirements and translating these into workflow, wireframes, design comps, presentation decks.
-Proficient with prototyping and design tools, such as Photoshop
-Strong communication and presentation skills.
-Expert understanding of user-centered design methodology, information architecture, user interface/ interaction design, and brand image management, and the ability to translate complex data structures into effective user interfaces
-Proven experience defining, documenting, and enforcing user interface design standards, best practices, design patterns, testing methodology to validate designs, and production standards for user interface specifications
-Strong project and people management skills and the ability to function as a project leader as well as an individual contributor
-Ability to organize, prioritize work, and facilitate collaboration to properly complete tasks
-Advocate for users while understanding the business and technical goals of the application
-Understands the rationale for promoting consistency in design and feels comfortable advocating for it
-Strong skills in mediating and resolving competing requirements and designs
-Strong mentoring, leadership, team building, and people management skills
-Strong verbal, written, and visual presentation skills with the ability to effectively defend ideas and results of observed interface problems
-Ability to take direction and constructive criticism
-Ability to organize, prioritize work, and collaborate to properly complete tasks
