Graphics in HTML5

Details
Back in the old days of the web, web developers had to use closed technologies like Flash to make vector graphics, visual effects, and animations. Now, thanks to HTML5 and the support of modern browsers, we can use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript instead. We'll talk about the cool ways that you can use and in this class, plus do a few hands-on exercises.
The course will be taught by Pamela Fox, a frontend developer for Coursera (http://www.coursera.org). If you're interested in helping out as a teaching assistant, please let us know.
As a prerequisite, you should have some familiarity with HTML and JavaScript. Bring your laptop and charger for the exercise portions.
Thank you to our sponsor Yelp (http://www.yelp.com) for the great location and pizza.
If you'd like to attend but cannot afford the cost, please request a GDI scholarship (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHRPTms0blNlTlo3cUpySFJENzBEdWc6MQ).
