Hiyaz everyone -

We have an HTML/CSS workshop this Sunday and a hack night on June 27th.

Besides our events, here are some other events of interest:

  • Confident Coding 2: Saturday, June 16th. A full day talk/workshop on more advanced JS topics, like the DOM and jQuery. It should work well as a follow-up for those of you who attended the JS class. If any of you are already JS experts, you can volunteer to TA.
  • AngelHack: Saturday, June 23rd. A hackathon for designers + developers.
  • BlackGirlsCode Workshop: June 30, 2012. A webpage-making workshop for girls 7-16. If you want to volunteer, attend the volunteer meeting on June 26th. It could be a great way to practice skills and inspire young girls.
  • Creating Browser Extensions: Sunday, July 1. A full-day workshop on making browser extensions, some JS knowledge is recommended.
  • AdaCamp: July 10-11. An unconference focused on increasing women in open technology and culture. It's in Washington, DC, but travel application grants are available.
  • OpenWebCamp: Saturday, July 14th. A day of talks on HTML5 and CSS3, appropriate for those of you who already have a good grounding in HTML & CSS. Just $10.

Besides those events, here are a few intensive bootcamps you might consider if you're able to dedicate 5-10 weeks of your life to web development:

  • HackStarAcademy: A 10-week intro to web development with Python, all female students.
  • DevBootCamp: A 10-week intro to web development with Rails, mixed students.
  • AppAcademy: A 9-week intro to iOS development, mixed students.

Happy hacking!
