GDI SF Newsletter: Open source in the summer, thanks to our sponsors, etc..!

Hi all!

I’d like to start off this email by thanking companies and individuals that have pitched in to our scholarship fund to make it possible for more students to attend our workshops:

OKCupidLabs, HearsaySocial, Disqus, Shana Larson

Also a shout-out to our recent venues - Hackbright Academy, DevBootCamp, Citizen Space.

We couldn’t do all of these workshops without the help of our sponsors, spaces, TAs, and teachers.

PyLadiesSF has started up an Interactive Python study group. I ran one last year, it was a lot of fun. :-)

Michelle Glauser put together a multi-tab spreadsheet of links for learning to code.

One more reminder - if you’re looking for something to do this summer, Gnome has an outreach program for women in open source with a $5000 stipend, applications due May 1st.

If you’re still a student, you might want to apply to Google Summer of Code.

And now for our regularly scheduled links!...
