Hi all -

We are nearly done securing venues for our spring workshop series. They’ll start on March 1st and continue through the end of April. Expect to see those announced in the next week.

I’ve attempted to organize this week’s announcements by intended audience. Enjoy…!

Are just getting started on the learning path?

Learn2Code is an event this weekend with representatives from many of the local coding opportunities. http://www.eventbrite.com/e/learn2code-conference-tickets-9079778863

CodePath (the first free mobile developer school) is accepting applications for March classes Android and iOS.

The Bay Area Video Coliation is launching an Experiential Design certificate program that you may be eligible to earn for free if you are un/under-employed. For those that are interested the application is: bavc.org/techsfapplication

Do you have daughters in grade school?

The Dare 2B Digital conference in March encourages young women to careers in computing. The Girls Who Code summer program for high school girls will also start accepting applications soon, register your interest here.

The Mission Bit Project is a -non profit project to teach for free students from middle and high school in public schools of San Francisco (with 43% female students). They’re raising money on IndieGogo, and accepting teacher applications.

Already a developer?

Put your mind to the problem of solving issues faced by black males at the first ever Startup Weekend Oakland on February 7th - all backgrounds welcome.

Want to speak about what you’ve learnt as a developer? The HTML5 Dev Conf CFP is now open.

Apply to be a Technovation Team Leader and lead middle school girls to victory. I just met a teacher tonight whose Oakland based team placed in top 20 last year!

Hackbright is holding two data science courses, for women who have been engineers for at least a year: Analytics on January 25-26, which GDI members can get $500 off with code GDISF, and Machine Learning on Sat, Feb 15th with the same discount.

Queer/ally?

The Lesbians Who Tech Summit is coming up in the end of February.

Entrepreneur?

Women’s Startup Lab is starting up a new session in February and accepting applicants now.
