Who can use your websites? Are they accessible to as many people as possible?
Web accessibility has traditionally described the process of enhancing websites for people with disabilities. Come to this class to learn more about developing with accessibility in mind—and building a better web experience for everyone.
This two-week class, taught by chapter co-leader Marcy Sutton, will focus on general design principles, with some hands-on exercises. It is helpful to have basic knowledge of HTML and CSS. You should also plan to bring a laptop and some headphones to work along with the class.
Class 1: Wednesday, October 8 from 7-9 pm
Class 2: Wednesday, October 15 from 7-9 pm
Marcy Sutton is a developer at Substantial in Seattle where she is currently contributing on accessibility to Google's Angular.js Material Design project. She's passionate about front-end development that's well designed, accessible and mobile friendly.
Class will meet on Wednesdays from 7-9 pm at Formidable Labs, formerly host to the now-closed co-working space, DevLocal. Due to the restrictions of Meetup's registration, we can't schedule multi-day events, so keep in mind that this Meetup event serves as registration and payment for the entire course.
