Cover Toronto Blanket Run

With the deep freeze beginning to thaw, Sunday afternoon will be a good day to hit the streets. This time we'll travel on foot.

We'll probably be out for a couple hours, so dress warmly if you plan to attend. Also, the walking and talking will help keep our bodies warm, and we can always hop into a coffee shop to warm up if needed.

The Meetup spot is Yonge-Dundas square just outside Hard Rock cafe. I'll have a huge duffle bag full of blankets, gloves, hats, etc., so no need to bring any items that way, but you certainly can if you want to.

Another good idea is to bring some loonies and toonies or fives to pass along. If you are uncomfortable giving money, Tim Hortons gift cards are like gold. But again, no need to bring these items either.

The most important thing is to come open, ready, and willing to share your presence with our fellow Torontonians living outside. I promise you'll be glad you did!

Thanks again everyone for coming out and lending a hand. Ayuna, those sandwiches were a great idea. Dave, kudos for keeping the fives flying out of your pocket as fast as I could fling mine. And Amy, just after you left, Dave and I saw that guy you gave that dry hat to to replace his wet one. I'm sure that saved him from getting sick! Hopefully you can all make it out again for the next run. Details to follow. And again, my sincere thanks for all your help.

Just a few final thoughts: This work takes a little bit of effort, but it can make a huge difference, especially when you think about that young couple outside Starbucks, for example. But there were so many other moments. In retrospect, I wish I had brought my camera to take pictures of the people we met. If any of you are willing to take a bit of time to recollect and post your reflections, those impressions would be really good to help us remember our day together.

Feeding or helping a homeless or anyone in need is feeding own soul. Thank you so much Stephen for giving us the opportunity to do that.

Thanks again Stephen. It was a very fulfilling afternoon and wonderful to see the looks of pleasant surprise on faces of the people we interacted with.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone, i'm glad it will be warmer than it was last Sunday :). Stephen, I have some warm clothing and blankets I can bring. Do you need them?

Welcome aboard Joanne! Sure, bring them. If we don't pass it along tomorrow, we can always add it to our supplies for the next run.

Hey Ayuna, sounds good. Hopefully you can make it even if your friends can't. It would be good to reconnect.
