This will take place in Dalston E8 close to Dalston Junction Station. The address will be sent out to all those who register.
In GlobalNet21 we often discuss national and global issues but community is also vitally important and this discussion will focus on our immediate society and down to the scale of our immediate communities.
Do we shut ourselves off in communities of like minds & hope “The Others” will leave us alone? While we live in fear of others, how can we affect change in our immediate environments? How do we engage all parts of our community? Post jubilee? Post riots?
Community initiatives often work with just one part of a social group – the teenagers, the toddlers, the mums, the elderly, but can that lead to a cohesive whole?
So how do we develop the idea and practice of community and make it work for everyone so that it is inclusive?

We will consider the various components that go to make up a modern community & create individual visions of what our ideal community would look like & the steps we would need to take to move towards that vision.
