Can You Tell us How You Found us and What Your Interests Are.

I'm a Canadian/British software developer who supports scientific computing projects. I grew up on Vancouver Island and have worked in Canada, the US, the UK, Switzerland, and Austria. I became interested in bioinformatics because of an interest in the ethics and intellectual property issues relating to patenting genes and genetically modified organisms. That interest has been periodically interrupted by a parallel interest in indigenous knowledge bases, especially relating to ethnobotanical remedies. I'm interested in the humanitarian sector and I'm currently involved in the field of public health. I’m currently pursuing courses through Birkbeck College’s World Art and Artefacts programme. It’s a programme that explains art in terms of large regions which interconnect with one another. I enjoy salsa, travel, folklore and history.

Can you tell us what sort of meetings would interest you.

I have an interest in how IT is used to help in developing countries, particularly in areas of public health.

Are you interested in helping by being a speaker, a chairperson or a facilitator of some of our meetings or webinars ?

We have now started to hold House Meetings. Would you be willing to host a house meeting yourself and what topic would you be interested in discussing at such a meeting?

Are there any other ways you could they help us develop the 21st Century Network idea?
