Going into production

Hapara have been using Go in research projects for some time, and some of our Go projects are now starting to make their way into production. We're keen to share some of our experiences so far.

Hapara are providing pizza, drinks and a space for the presentation.

I'd like to talk about the tools we are using, some decisions we've made, some problems, and some success stories:

• Overview of our Go-based projects, including a bit of background about Hapara, and a quick section on infrastructure (we're using Google Compute Engine).

• Code structure - some key components & design decisions made while building our web apps.

• Some code examples: I'm planning to show about 10 or 15 code examples, of coding practises we've been using, and a few 'gotchas' to be aware of.

• Tooling (productivity, dependency management, testing, editors, deployment, ...).

• Finally, it might be fun to have a news section. e.g. Go 1.5 is around the corner, as is GopherCon.

It'll be pretty informal talk, I'm keen for Q&As on each section, and if anyone else would like to share the stage, please leave a comment below.
