These sessions are suitable for those aged at least 50 who are complete beginners, returning to dancing, and beyond the beginner stage.
You'll learn routines that include something for everyone i.e. figures providing a range of levels of challenge.
The group is large and includes plenty of both sexes. You can bring a partner or come on your own - you'll have the opportunity to dance with everybody.
You can dress up or down but wear shoes that are comfortable, attached to your foot at the heel, and are non-stick (trainers are not suitable, therefore).
We run every Sunday from 2pm until 4pm; a tea break and practice time are included.
The first session is free but announce yourself at reception. Thereafter the cost is £2, pay-as-you-go. It's inexpensive and huge value for money.
This is an ongoing activity, so come to the next session. The sooner you start the sooner you'll start enjoying yourself!
The venue is a three-minute walk from Royal Oak Underground Station (Hammersmith and City, and Circle Lines), which is one stop from Paddington. Leave Royal Oak Station and face right. Walk up Porchester Road. At the end turn left into Harrow Road. Take the second turning on the left (Torquay Street - a Shell petrol station is on the corner).
It's also close to Warwick Avenue Station (Bakerloo Line). There’s a footbridge between Blomfield Road and Delamere Terrace near The Waterway restaurant.
Westminster Academy Sports Centre is on bus routes 18 and 36.
You can park in the street at this time without charge (avoid any double yellow lines, of course).
