"Do We Need God to Have Morality?"

A debate between nonbeliever/skeptic Wayne State University professor Dr. James Chalmers (B.A, M.A, PhD) and believer/pastor Bill Barnwell (BA, M.A., J.D.) on the subject of:
"Do We Need God to Have Morality?"
The format will consist of both presentations by each speaker, rebuttals, and interactions with questions from those attending. Hosted at the very popular Mr. B's Pub in a private downstairs facility that can seat over 100 people. Private bar and full restaurant menu. A suggested donation of $5 at the door will be applied towards the room rental, but is not a requirement to attend. All are welcome.
Attenders must RSVP. Those who RSVP and do not show and fail to update their RSVP status 24 hours before the event must provide a compelling reason or will risk being excluded from future group events.
The Presenters:
Dr. Chalmers has studied at Columbia and the University of Colorado at Boulder. He teaches normative issues in public policy and courses in political thought. His study of acts of violence by victims of injustice is entitled Violence and Oppression . Other publications include "American Liberalism and the Use of Force" in The Liberal Future in America and "Principles and Violence" published in Polity. Professor Chalmers is currently studying the justification of the unequal distribution of power, status, wealth and income.
Pastor Barnwell received his undergraduate and graduate theological education at Bethel College. Also during his undergrad years he spent several semesters at Michigan State, Wayne State, and Cambridge Universities. He also taught on the college level various subjects ranging from Old Testament, New Testament, Church History, and Biblical Interpretation. He completed his legal education this year and is readying to enter into the practice of law.
