TYPE: Walk & Talk | PACE: Conversational | TERRAIN: Mostly sidewalk, some natural trail | DIFFICULTY: Flat or gentle slope | DISTANCE: approx 2.5 miles | COST: Free
The holiday lights along Clear Creek in downtown Golden are especially bold and bright this year. Please join us for a stroll through the twinkling beauty along Clear Creek, in Parfet Park, and through downtown Golden. This walk will be a relaxed one-hour loop at a conversational pace. We will take in the amazing array of colors and lights and enjoy the creativity of our brilliant light-hangers. Depending on the desires of the group, we may gather at a nearby Golden establishment to partake of our "beverage of choice."
This walk is intended to provide a fun, easy-going, communal and social on-foot experience to finish the week. It's also a great way to meet other walking friends.

We will meet at 6:30pm in front of the cafe, make introductions, answer questions and lightly warm up.
If you are going to get a hot beverage, borrow traction devices, or use the restroom, please plan to show up well before 6:30pm as we will leave NO LATER than 6:35pm. We should be done walking no later than 8:10am. You can of course leave early if you need to!
Please be sure to RSVP so we can notify you in the unlikely event the walk is cancelled. Thank you!
Feel free to contact walking trip host, Denise at ddrlg@msn.com or 303.903.4696 if you have questions!
First Timers/Waivers: If this is your first time walking with Denise or if you have not completed a Welcome Waiver in 2016, please arrive 5-10 minutes early to connect, learn more about the walk, and complete a waiver.
Parking: Available on street, behind Windy Saddle, and in the parking garage on Jackson St.
Weather: We are in the Winter season, so please come prepared with enough layers and/or waterproof gear to keep yourself comfortable. As the conditions underfoot are not completely predictable, it would be good to bring along any traction devices (e.g., Yaktrax, Microspikes, Krokers) if you have them. Golden Walks has a few to lend. Hand warmers will be provided if desired.
Restroom: Public restroom is available nearby.
Dog Friendly! Please consider whether your dog is calm & well-behaved in a group. S/he MUST stay on a maximum 6' leash; please be sure to bring baggies.
Note: Golden Walks [Walk2Connect partner] are very informal and give us all unique opportunities to connect with one another, with ourselves and with our surroundings.
Let's walk!
Denise & Saoirse
